Chief Nelson Genaille, welcomed, teams, families and ball players from across Canada to the 2025 Native Canadian Fastball Championships at Buhler Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Sapotaweyak Cree Nation is proud to host the Championships and look forward to a great weekend of fastball and competition.

National Chief Cindy Woodhouse and AMC Grand Chief Kyra Wilson were on hand as well to give opening remarks and be a part of this exciting weekend. Sapotaweyak Cree Nation is thankful to have our Grand Chiefs at the opening ceremonies and to welcome everyone.

Chief Genaille is joined by Sapotaweyak Cree Nation members who are volunteering and working hard to make the championships a great experience and fun for all players. The planning for the event takes many months and Chief Genaille thanks those who assisted in making the event possible.

Chief Genaille thanked everyone for joining the event and travelling from throughout Canada
